Number Words to Numerals Worksheets
Write each number in digits. A new set of questions every time, with an answer key. Click New worksheet for a fresh sheet, then print it with its answer key.
About this worksheet
Number sense practice beyond counting: numbers before, after and between, ordering, odd and even, rounding to the nearest 10, 100 or 1,000, Roman numerals, number words and the value of digits. These skills help children see how numbers relate to each other, which makes arithmetic easier. Every sheet is new and has an answer key.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Use a number line or hundreds chart for before, after and rounding questions.
- For rounding, find the two nearest tens (or hundreds) and ask which one the number is closer to. 5 rounds up.
- Roman numerals: a smaller letter before a bigger one means subtract (IV = 4).
- Have children read big numbers aloud: it reinforces place value.
