Measuring to the Nearest Quarter Inch
Read a real-size ruler to measure five bars: nearest quarter inch. Click New worksheet for a fresh sheet, then print it with its answer key.
About this worksheet
Read a ruler to measure each bar. Rulers are printed at real size, in inches (to the nearest inch, half inch or quarter inch) or in centimetres and millimetres, so children can check their answers with a real ruler. The answer key shows every length.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Print at 100% scale ('actual size') so the rulers are true to size.
- Always line up the start of the object with the zero mark, not the end of the ruler.
- Count the small marks between whole numbers to find halves and quarters.
- After the sheet, measure five real objects and record them.
